WELCOME LAMBDA CHAPTER!
Delta Kappa is extremely excited to announce the installation of the Lambda Chapter at the University of Akron! On August 30, 2014, members of the Lambda Chapter were present for the chapter installation and membership induction ceremony held at the home of Molly McDowell-Burns, the newly elected Program Vice-President of the chapter. The newly installed officers then hosted a cookout for all MFT students to kick of the fall semester.
Ulia Fisher, the chapter's first President, had the following to say about the chapter's organization on the campus of The University of Akron:
"We are extremely excited to announce the Grand Opening of the Delta Kappa Lambda chapter of The International Marriage and Family Therapy Honor Society....being a part of the international honor society will afford our program more opportunities for networking with other chapters, and it will give us more visibility and credibility in our local community.
To this end, our chapter will be able to collaborate with the current ten chapters on events, board members will gain access to guidance from more experienced chapters, and members will be able to network with other chapter members. Such collaboration potential will help our chapter grow, but more importantly, it will help our members and all MFT students to grow and contribute to our field.
It has been an exciting transition and we invite you to be a part of it!"
Ulia Fisher,
Lambda Chapter President
