Raises $4,529 for NAMI

The HIU MFT program has been participating in the Orange County National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Walk for the past two years now. Not only was HIU a sponsor for this year's walk, but as a team, they raised a program record amount of $4,529.00 and had 70 registered team members join them on walk day. In addition, their admissions team was represented  by Danielah Germon where she was able to have numerous interactions with other walkers requesting information about the MFT program. Other individuals that played a key role in managing the Hope's table were Graduate Assistants Danny Nava, Andy Del Castillo, and Jacob Kavanaugh.

The goal as a Hope community was to come together, raise money, and walk for those who struggle with a mental illness. This event plays a vital role in not only reducing the stigma that surrounds mental illness, but allows the HIU faculty, staff, and students to play a part in providing funding towards mental health services that will be utilized by thousands of individuals and families all throughout Orange County.
