Delta Kappa in Indianapolis

Delta Kappa took the AAMFT Conference in Indianapolis by storm! Not only did we enjoy our time in the Exhibit Hall making contact with faculty, students, and graduates of more than 50 COAMFTE programs, but we welcomed the Christian Theological Seminary (Tau Chapter) to the growing organization (photos to come soon)!

Many Delta Kappa members gathered for a phone during the Program/Division Showcase on Friday night. This has become an annual photo, even if the logistics are challenging!

There are now 18 established DK chapters with several scheduled across the coming months, and our goal is to have a chapter in each COAMFTE accredited program. We want every MFT student to have the ability to be recognized for their academic achievements because for many, there are limited or even no options. Some have the option to join the honor societies for other disciplines such as Psi Chi or Chi Sigma Iota, while others may have a program or university with a local organization that lacks national ties. Essentially, students have had no access to any organization that formally and officially recognizes them for their academic achievements in MFT. Delta Kappa is proud to fill that void in our discipline by recognizing the academic achievements of marriage and family therapy scholars!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to show your support for our efforts as well as those who came to get more information. Reach out to us so that we can get a chapter started at your institution!
